Ítrabo

The gastronomy of Ítrabo is based on local products, both fruits and vegetables, and livestock raised on smallholdings, and is the result of centuries of tradition.

Among typical dishes offered are kid goat in garlic, and chicharrones (crackling), made in the age-old way and tasting as delicious as ever and, of course, accompanied by the excellent local wine. Always present at the table is a basket of bread baked in the traditional way, in a wood-fired oven, which gives the bread its characteristic, wonderful flavour.

Desserts include Moorish delicacies such as pestiņos (honey-coated pancakes) and roscos (ring-shaped cakes), as well as home-grown fruits like medlars and custard-apples.
